Diabetes may affect sleep, academic performance in children

Children with type 1 diabetes spent about 5% less time in a deep sleep, compared with those who do not have the disease, researchers found. These children also had higher blood-glucose levels, lower quality of life and lower academic grades, according to the University of Arizona study published in the journal Sleep.
