Stopping aspirin therapy risky for stroke survivors

Discontinuing daily therapeutic aspirin may triple stroke survivors' risk of having another stroke within a month, according to Swiss researchers. The reason is unclear, but stopping aspirin increases blood platelet activity linked to stroke-inducing clots, according to findings reported at the International Stroke Conference in New Orleans.
