Nasdaq asks SEC to approve listings of "stockpiling" firms

The Securities and Exchange Commission is considering plans by Nasdaq OMX Group to allow companies that stockpile commodities to list, raising concerns about the illiquid nature of the commodity markets in which stockpilers operate. If the SEC approves Nasdaq's request, it would be the first securities exchange in the U.S. to list firms focused on buying and holding commodities.
