Harman to build PND hybrid for Mercedes models

Harman International is developing a personal navigation device that doubles as an "in-dash infotainment system" for Mercedes vehicles, according to Dinesh Paliwal, chairman and CEO of Harman. The product will initially be offered in eight Mercedes models in the second half of 2010 and, Paliwal said, is part of a growing trend in which automakers are becoming more aggressive in the PND market.
