Liberty International mulls company split

Britain's Liberty International is thinking about splitting its London division and shopping center operations into two specialist companies. Shareholders would benefit from the move, analysts say. "Ignoring what the costs might be, a breakup would enhance shareholder value," said Harm Meijer, a London-based analyst at JPMorgan Chase. "The London portfolio would perform quite strongly as a separate company."
