FCC starts to implement mobile portion of USF reform plan

The Federal Communications Commission wants public opinion on how it should dole out $300 million to bring broadband wireless service to unserved areas as part of a "reverse auction," tentatively scheduled for Sept. 27, that will serve as the first round of Mobility Fund disbursements. The plan is part of the FCC's newly approved reforms to its Universal Service Fund.
