$250M San Diego pollution-cleanup suit is thrown out

A federal judge dismissed a $250 million pollution lawsuit filed by San Diego against Kinder Morgan Energy Partners. The suit contended that the company didn't adequately address seepage from tanks that contained 26 million gallons of fuel and polluted the land under Qualcomm Stadium, as well as groundwater. A Kinder Morgan spokeswoman said the firm has invested more than $60 million to clean up contamination predating its acquisition of the tank-farm site.
