Devices offer noninvasive alternative for contouring

Zeltiq's CoolSculpting device, which uses cryolipolysis to induce fat cell death, can significantly reduce fat while tightening the skin. Solta Medical's Liposonix attacks subcutaneous fat using focused ultrasound and may promote contraction and thickening of collagen. Erchonia Medical's Zerona laser delivers low-level red light that punctures fat cells.
