Report identifies 14 characteristics of user-friendly EMRs

A task force of the American Medical Informatics Association has outlined 14 principles for developing user-friendly EMRs, including consistency, visibility, flexibility and error prevention. The principles are part of the task force's report aimed at making EMRs more usable to promote patient safety.
