A system for dynamic ad insertion in video-on-demand content developed by CableLabs is ready for use, once programmers and MSOs strike business deals. Canoe Ventures, the consortium owned by the six largest U.S. MSOs, was among the participants in a Jan. 23-27 test that included the integration of national and local ads and demonstrated how targeted ads would be shown as part of VOD.
