LanzaTech pledges to make Ga. ethanol plant profitable

LanzaTech, which acquired Range Fuels' former ethanol plant in Soperton, Ga., will succeed where Range Fuels failed and make the facility profitable, said Laurel Harmon, LanzaTech's vice president for government relations. LanzaTech's technology is different from Range Fuels' and is capable of producing additional products such as butanediol, butanol, propanol and acetone, said Harmon. Unlike Range Fuels, LanzaTech relies on private investment instead of government grants, Harmon added.
