$4.8B modernization plan for L.A. airport advances

The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners has approved the conceptual plans and final environmental impact statement for modernization work at Los Angeles International Airport. The estimated $4.76 billion project includes construction of a new taxiway, terminal additions, a transportation center, new parking areas, and possibly, links to a light-rail station.
