DARPA is planning space robot to salvage satellite parts

The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is working on a project that would make use of pricey satellite antennas on discarded, orbiting hardware by employing a robot to cut off the useable parts and attach them to new equipment. The project, called Phoenix, would use a robot to do the repairs while in geosynchronous orbit.
