Do's and don'ts in treating heart-disease patients

When providing spa services to patients with heart conditions, knowledge of the body and the condition is key, experts say. Massage therapists shouldn't put pressure on the chest and shouldn't treat the client daily. Saunas and cold therapies are out, but lukewarm baths that incorporate aromatherapy are fine. Some skin care treatments can aggravate heart conditions, especially chest and abdominal exfoliation.
