Calif. Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Proposes Education Shakeup

Bill Jones yesterday proposed increasing local control of education. He says the education system has become less effective as the state and federal governments have assumed more power over the sector. Jones's proposal would cap all school districts at 30,000 students and allow each school to hire its own teachers, care for its own buildings and select curricula.
