Committee to hold hearing on proposed HHS budget

The House Ways and Means Committee will hold a hearing on President George W. Bush's proposed 2009 budget for the HHS, Committee Chairman Charles B. Rangel said. "I hope Secretary Leavitt is willing to have an honest conversation about how best Congress and the administration can work together to protect taxpayer interests and help all individuals and families get the social services and health care they need," he said.
