Report: Black Americans' spending power to exceed $1 trillion by 2012

The purchasing power of 39 million blacks in the U.S. could reach $1.1 trillion by 2012, according to a new report from Packaged Facts. The report also reveals that well-to-do blacks are more likely than their affluent counterparts to spend money on expensive items. However, Packaged Facts publisher Tatjana Meerman noted that the buying behaviors of blacks still vary, and marketers should keep an eye on these differences to make marketing campaigns effective.
