FDA releases guidance for use of statistical methods in device trials

The FDA has released guidelines for the use of the Bayesian statistical methods in medical device clinical studies. The methods allow companies to merge previous clinical trial data with current data, which may lead to more cost-effective and efficient trials. The guidance also includes recommendations for the use of the methods in postmarket trials.
