The Dung Quat Bio-Ethanol Plant in Vietnam's Quang Ngai province produced its first batch of ethanol last week. The facility took 33 months for construction and testing. About 10% of the facility's output would be used to make E5 for domestic use while the remainder would be sold to the Philippines and other Asean nations, said Ho Sy Long, the plant's director. The $95.7 million plant has an annual capacity of about 26.4 million gallons.
