Feds give $500,000 grant for alt-fuel projects in N.C.

The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded a $500,000 grant to North Carolina's Alternative Fuel Implementation Team. The grant is intended for projects that will aid in the wider adoption of alternative fuels such as propane autogas and biodiesel. The effort is a collaboration among major energy associations and agencies in the state, including the North Carolina Propane Gas Association, the Biofuels Center of North Carolina and state's Solar Center.
