Study finds subsidies will blunt impact of higher premiums

Rules in the Affordable Care Act regarding rates insurers may charge older patients, mandatory benefits and cost caps will lead to higher premiums for some, especially young men, and lower premiums for women, older subscribers and others, a Kaiser Family Foundation study finds. Nonetheless, concerns about pending sticker shock have been exaggerated because ACA subsidies will offset most of the higher costs, one of the study's authors said.
