Hospitals labor over building deluxe new maternity wards

In the increasingly competitive maternity field, hospitals are spending heavily on luxurious maternity wards to make a good impression and hopefully build loyalty among new mothers and their families. The trend to update maternity wards with perks such as private suites, whirlpool baths and Internet access also is part of a broader national effort to renovate many outdated hospital facilities.
