Boxee lobbies against FCC rule change on basic-tier encryption

With the Federal Communications Commission considering a rule change that would require encryption of basic cable channels, making a set-top box necessary to receive those channels, Boxee is lobbying FCC officials to block the change, which is supported by cable providers. The Consumer Electronics Association backs Boxee on this issue.
