Boomers not so active and healthy as widely believed

Belying the popular image of active, healthy boomers, national statistics paint a different picture. Compared with generations that preceded them, boomers have fewer smoking-related illnesses, but in most other ways they're less healthy, with particularly in rates of high blood pressure and diabetes. "The baby boomers are going into those high-medical-use years in much worse condition than their forefathers," said Dana E. King, a professor in the department of family medicine at the West Virginia University School of Medicine.
