Blog: "Clinical Groupware" may have major influence on health IT

A new class of IT systems designed to boost medical care through coordination among groups of people as well as communication approaches that are Web-based and ideal for networking will have a significant influence on health IT, writes David C. Kibbe on The Health Care Blog. He calls such systems "Clinical Groupware" and says they can be used to develop "a unified view of the patient" based on data from multiple sources -- a function that most EHRs are unable to do.
