Obama's budget proposal allots $4M for national device registry

The Obama administration's fiscal 2011 budget proposal would give the FDA $4 million in funding to develop a national device registry that would connect unique device identifiers to electronic medical records. The budget request also would allocate $325.7 million in financing to the agency's Center for Devices and Radiological Health.
