Winter storm shuts down East Coast air travel

Thousands of flights have been canceled from Washington, D.C., to Boston, with blizzard conditions expected throughout the region. Flights were canceled at airports including Newark Liberty, New York LaGuardia and New York JFK. Reagan National and Dulles airports, near Washington, D.C., were closed and nearly all flights at Philadelphia International Airport have been canceled through Thursday morning. The cancellations reportedly caused delays in air travel as far away as Ireland, Florida and California.
