Canadian retailers experiment with social media strategies

Roots Canada is using Facebook pop-up stores to reach out to consumers. "If you're already on Facebook and you're spending hours there, you don't have to leave the site to shop," said Tanya Zelk, manager of online marketing and customer experience at Roots. Sears Canada, Home Depot, H&M Canada and other Canadian retailers are also trying their luck at social media strategies, with varying degrees of success.
