FEMA wants California city to act on improper home-permit issuance

Officials in Sacramento, Calif., are working on a "corrective action plan" required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to address concerns about the improper permits that were issued for new homes in the Natomas flood zone. A federal building ban was implemented in the flood-prone area while levee improvement work was under way.
