CDC: Syphilis test yields about 18% false-positive results

A study in the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report found about 18% of false-positive results of a syphilis testing method used since the 1980s were negative. The CDC recommends another screening be given if this test indicates a positive syphilis diagnosis.
