Post-show discussion programming fuels success of AMC, Bravo series

AMC's "The Walking Dead" and Bravo's "Real Housewives" franchise have solidified their loyal audiences via after shows that are fueled by tweets and Facebook posts, as well as traditional phone calls from viewers. The after shows are inexpensive to produce and take advantage of an increasing segment of the TV audience becoming "simultaneous users" who peruse the Web about the series while they're viewing the shows. Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" has expanded to five nights per week and is no longer solely focused on the "Housewives" series but discusses other Bravo series as well.
