Study: AIDS virus uses another receptor to target cells

U.S. scientists have identified another cell receptor -- integrin alpha 4 beta 7 -- used by the AIDS virus to infect immune system cells, reach the gut and boost its ability to spread in the body. Researchers said they expect to develop drugs that could prevent HIV from attaching to the receptor.
