Pennsylvania nurses seek staff ratio legislation

Pennsylvania nurses are lobbying for legislation to limit the number of hospital patients cared for by one nurse at any given time. The legislation would set a range of patient maximums for nurses working in 17 different hospital units. The new initiative comes just months after passage of a bill that bans mandatory overtime for nurses, beginning July 1.
