BoE's King says more bond purchases are possible

Mervyn King, governor of the Bank of England, indicated that policymakers will refrain from tightening policies for at least a year and that the central bank is still open to additional purchases of government bonds. King also reiterated that the UK economic recovery likely will be gradual as credit conditions remain tight and debt reduction continues to be a priority in the private and public sectors.
