Despite sales dip, CE sector shows signs of improvement

Things are getting better in the consumer-electronics retail market even though sales dropped about 5% to $106 billion in 2009, according to a report from the NPD Group. "The industry lost ground this year but in light of the overall economic conditions it was a performance that could have been much worse," said Stephen Baker, an industry analysis vice president.
