Small shops got 34% of 2009 direct federal stimulus contract funds

Ohio State University's Kirwan Institute tracked how much federal stimulus has gone to small business and its various subgroups. Of the $39 billion in direct federal contracts awarded in 2009, 34% went to small businesses, 7.6% to women-owned firms, 3.5% Hispanic-owned and 2.5% African-American owned.
