Calories Count program aims to help consumers with drink selection

Several surveys show consumers are interested in healthful eating, but are often confused by changing and sometimes contradictory information. "[Consumers are] very clear that they want choices and they want information that helps them make a choice," said ABA president Susan Neely. The ABA is working with PepsiCo, the Coca-Cola Co. and the Dr Pepper Snapple Group to launch the Calories Count Vending Program, which aims to help consumers make informed choices through messaging and calorie information on vending machines.
