Study: Mediterranean diet promotes happiness

People who adhere to a Mediterranean diet report happier feelings than those who eat a typical American diet, according to a study published in the Journal of Psychosomatic Research. In addition to enjoying the health benefits linked to eating a diet rich in olive oil, vegetables, fish and nuts, subjects also reported fewer negative emotions such as irritability, nervousness and fear, according to the study by Loma Linda University researchers.
