Web trumps cable as first source of news

Internet traffic spiked following the space shuttle Columbia disaster last week, reflecting Americans' growing tendency to get news from the Web, Nielsen//NetRatings data show. Of the three leading cable news networks, only Fox News Channel attracted more viewers to its TV broadcast than to its Web site.
