Airlines report best year on record for baggage handling

The Department of Transportation has announced that for 2012, airlines reported their lowest rate of mishandled bags since records have been kept and set high marks for on-time performance. "It was an excellent year for airline operational performance and a record-high success rate for baggage handling," said Victoria Day, a spokeswoman for Airlines for America.
