Colo. school districts make employee wellness a priority

Colorado school districts are hiring wellness coordinators, offering free exercise classes and preventive health screenings, and opening an employee clinic as the emphasis on student health expands to include teachers and staff. Kaiser Permanente, which provides health care for employees in 83 Colorado districts, is working on new programs specifically for schools, where teachers and staff often are not sitting at a desk all day and have wellness needs that are different from other professions.
