Impartiality of NRC inspectors draws praise from Macfarlane

Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairwoman Allison Macfarlane lauded the impartiality of the agency's inspectors deployed at the country's 104 nuclear plants. "I was most impressed by the relationship or the lack of relationship I've been able to distinguish between the resident inspectors and the licensee. I often see the resident inspectors look physically uncomfortable in the presence of the licensee -- you know, arms folded," Macfarlane said.
