Intel turns to TVs with set-top box launch this year

Intel this year will launch an online television service with its own proprietary set-top box, posing competition for Boxee, Roku and possibly Apple. The Internet-based TV service will extend to mobile devices, according to Intel's Erik Huggers. The move comes while the PC market, the chipmaker's longtime bread and butter, continues to decline as mobile electronics gain in popularity.
