Study: Biomarker model predicts advancing dementia

A biomarker model showed utility in predicting the progression of Alzheimer's disease in patients with mild cognitive impairment, according to a study from Italy published in Neurology. Data showed all patients who had all the biomarkers evaluated saw their dementia symptoms progress, while only one patient in a group that did not have any biomarkers included in the model had symptom advancement during the study period.
