Mo. bills would remove practice barriers for APRNs

Bills introduced in the Missouri House and Senate would allow advanced practice registered nurses to work independently. Seventeen states, including Iowa, have similar laws. VA nurse practitioner Shanna DeWater said removing restrictions will allow more comprehensive care, and she called on physicians to consider the "restrictions that create hardships and impositions" on patients.
