Report: BYOD to help push smartphones above the 1 billion mark

As many as 200 million workers will be using their own smartphones in the workplace within the next four years under so-called bring-your-own-device programs, according to a study by Forrester Research. The research firm polled more than 3,500 business decision-makers to complete the report, which predicts that there will be in excess of 1 billion smartphones in circulation by 2016, with the mobile-applications market alone generating about $56 billion in revenues.
