The AVMA has provided new details about a private marketplace where members can compare and buy health insurance policies. The marketplace will be rolled out in two phases this spring: the first for members who turn 65 or older this year, and the second for all other members. "Our new Web-based insurance exchange marketplace will enable our members to easily and conveniently review and compare medical insurance options, and is an innovative solution to the challenges created by recent events impacting GHLIT medical coverage," said Dr. James Brandt, chairman of the AVMA Group Health Life Insurance Trust. The exchange will utilize a HealthPlan Services platform.
