Cellphone sales in 2012: Glass half full or half empty?

Global smartphone sales soared by 38% from the previous year in the fourth quarter, Gartner reported Wednesday, but for all of 2012 total cellphone sales fell by 1.7% on weak demand for feature phones. Apple and Samsung Electronics continued their smartphone dominance by increasing their combined market share to 52% compared, with 46.4% in the third quarter, with Samsung in the lead.
