Women with type 1 diabetes show worse glycemic control post-pregnancy

A study in Diabetes Care revealed pregnant women with type 1 diabetes showed deterioration in glycemic control in the year following pregnancy. Significant and sustained weight gain was also observed, suggesting that women with type 1 diabetes "seem to require special medical attention after delivery to maintain their diabetes control within therapeutic targets," study authors wrote.
