$2M of oil company's payments will go to La. environmental projects

Houston-based Pelican Refining will make $2 million in community-service payments in Louisiana as part of a federal court sentence that also involves a $10 million criminal fine, a record penalty for Clean Air Act violations in the state. The community-service payments will go toward environmental projects of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation as well as the Louisiana state police and the state's Department of Environmental Quality.
